Rejoicing Spirits offers a proven and successful model that is easy for churches to replicate in their own communities in partnership with the Rejoicing Spirits team. It uses creative worship, intentional community partnerships, fellowship, education and inclusion to provide people with intellectual and developmental disabilities with the opportunity to explore and experience faith.
Rejoicing Spirits:
- Serves as a first step into a faith community
- Is a complementary service
- May fully meet the current faith needs and desires a person has
Important Elements Include:
- A shush-free worship environment at least once a month
- Regular fellowship and service opportunities for people of all abilities
- Education and sensitivity training for congregations
- Building partnerships between people with disabilities, social services, families and churches.
